Outdoor Gardening

First we should know, what the term outdoor gardening represents. Gardening means work, that is related to your garden. That can be, planting a tree, feeding your existing plants or preparing a flowerbed for annuals. And naturally, as garden means a place outside any superstructure, we can say gardening and outdoor gardening are same. No, they are not same thing. outdoor gardening is related to that type of work which will enhance the whole landscape. In another word it is same as landscaping. The first and foremost step behind every success is careful planning. Same goes about gardening also. Plan your garden, before you start any work on your outdoor yard. Be a visionary and try to think, how your garden will be after a few years. Now, if you see something about your garden, which you do not like, try to eliminate that beforehand. After you plan your garden discuss it with others, may be they will point out something which you have missed. Like, the place you have decided to keep for your annuals is not a suitable choice, because of the large tree in your garden, which you are going to plant beside it and will obstruct sunlight for most of the part of the day.

Though outdoor gardening can be considered as a pastime hobby, it requires dedication and regularity. Allocate some time in your daily schedule or at least in your alternate day routine for your garden. Do remember that working in outdoor means a continuous exposure to sunlight, which may tire you early and can also affect your health. Try to work in your garden, either early in the morning or in the afternoon

After you plan your garden landscape, divide it into small segments and start working on them one by one. If you have a large resource, you can also build your garden all together. But I prefer them doing each item individually. May be first finish your pond and then go for the lawn. This will help you to view the end result of your work early and will encourage you more.

Gardening tools are another important aspect of gardening. Choose proper tools, which will be easier to work with and will last for a long time in outdoor condition. Also proper maintenance is required to keep them in good working condition. Wash them properly after finishing work and apply a thin coat of petroleum jelly to protect from rust. Make a storage place for your tools which is moisture free and out of reach from your children and pets. I have loose, some of mine, ignoring the last rule.

There are other artificial things in a landscape, which makes it more beautiful, like trellis, planters, birdbaths and bird feeders, etc. I have provided some idea regarding garden sundries/accents also for your reference. My last landscaping tip is,
do not afraid to experiment in your garden. In gardening, many ideas evolve after experimenting, which at first might have looked silly. So, go ahead, start gardening and enjoy nature.
